A workplace injury can have a profound effect on your life. It can mean financial hardship when your paycheck stops, and cause personal stress for you and your loved ones during your recovery. If your injury is serious, has you out of work for a long time or makes you unable to return to your job, you may feel overwhelmed with worry about how you will support yourself and your family. This is a lot to take on when you should be spending your time focusing on healing and recovering. The attorneys at Maxwell & Webb have decades of experience helping injured workers navigate the confusing workers’ compensation system, and guiding cases to the best outcome for you. Every case is different, and every person has unique concerns and priorities. We listen to our clients and work hard to bring about the end result that the client is seeking.
People get injured on the job every day. Whether your injury is the result of an accident, malfunctioning equipment, negligence or an intentional act, you can file a workers’ compensation claim. The system can be intimidating, demanding and confusing, making it hard to focus on your recovery. Without an experienced advocate it can be difficult to fight for the medical treatment, financial benefits, and vocational services that you are entitled to under your claim. At Maxwell & Webb, we understand the workers’ compensation system and have spent most of our 75 years of combined experience fighting on behalf of injured workers. In fact, we started our practice to put our knowledge and experience to work for the countless injured workers in Washington who are being unfairly treated by the system and struggle to get access to their full benefits.
Maxwell & Webb is not a big, volume-driven firm where the clients only speak to paralegals, and never to attorneys. We have intentionally kept our practice small so that the attorneys can keep hands on with the clients, and work the cases on a day to day basis. We believe that our clients get the best outcome when the attorneys are thoroughly involved in the cases from the beginning. We don’t wait until your case is on the cusp of litigation before you speak to an attorney. At Maxwell & Webb you will be able to speak to the attorneys throughout your claim. Let us help you. Occupational Disease Claims
Workers in the State of Washington can also file a workers’ compensation claim for an Occupational Disease. An Occupational Disease is a medical condition that develops over time, usually due to repetitive motion or repetitive exposure to something at work. An occupational disease caused by repetitive motion might be something like a knee condition caused by extended periods of kneeling during your job, or carpal tunnel syndrome caused by extensive typing or hours of using a computer mouse at work. An occupational disease caused by exposure could be something like hearing loss from working in a very noisy factory, or a lung condition that develops after being exposed to a chemical at work. Occupational disease claims require a more technical legal analysis and can be more difficult to assess. If you believe you have developed an occupational disease as a result of your job, give us a call for a free consultation so that we can help you assess the viability of filing a claim.
